Traveling the Ancient Roads

Take a look at this very cool photograph! A good friend of mine had business in Cairo, Egypt and glanced out his hotel room window at just the right moment. Even those Disney Imagineers couldn't replicate this! (I guess I should start staying those that work at Universal Creative as well!) Here's the gift of a good cel phone and when it comes into play. There was no need for a special lease or much of a zoom. What a shot! Reminds me all of this: Thus says the Lord: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ These words from the prophet Jeremiah remind me to look to the Lord Jesus and His ways as how to live my life and to not follow the patterns and lifestyles of this world. When I follow him, I will find rest for my soul. What could be better than that?

An Interruption in Our Epcot 30th Coverage

Please forgive this cutting in on the Epcot 30th anniversary celebration dance. Just have to mention this article - with photographs - I just read. Many people I know do not seem to believe that Christians are persecuted in this day and age. Well, that's not the case. This recent article describes persecution (execution) of Christians in Egypt and Yemen. I can't close my eyes to this any longer. Warning: explicit photograph...  Go here for the article.

Beastly Kingdom's Riddle of the Sphinx

Until I get around to finishing Part 4 of my series "Disney's Animal Kingdom: A True- Life Adventure", here's a nice rendering of the sphinx that was to grace the now defunct Beastly Kingdom. Just look at the detail! Absolutely beautiful.

The biggest riddle of the sphinx is the simple question of "Why?" Such as, "Why abandon the concept of an entire land devoted to imaginary animals?" or "Why let the design work ripped off by Universal's Islands of Adventure stop the Walt Disney Company from thrilling guests with an even more astounding creation?"

Yes, I know, the concept is dead they say. However, as stunning as the 4th park at Walt Disney World is, it would certainly be more complete if another land was created to celebrate animals imaginary to complement those real and extinct. The Imagineers are the best in the business. It's time to let them spread their wings and fly.
