A Birthday Without A Photo

Finally! Blogger was up to its old tricks again!  I wanted to upload a photo of our youngest daughter and her father on her birthday, but no such luck! But today, it worked. Since our birthdays are very close together, we often celebrate together. One year, she decided to take me to the Denver Zoo to sit in the sand near the manta ray exhibit and have a margarita together. What a creative and thoughtful gift! A bit of Southern California in the middle of the plains of Colorado. Anyway, happy birthday to our youngest daughter! What an amazing woman of God she is!

Parker, Jesus, and That Dirty Tomb

From my daughter regarding Easter:  "Laughable moment: we had the kids clean up so that we could do the egg hunt. Parker threw a fit and said "well Jesus didn't have to clean out the tomb..."

Gotta love that kid! (The one on the right, our miracle boy. Read the story.) He has a very funny way of looking at life without even trying! Happy Birthday, Parker!

60 Years of Dreams

Wanted to close out the year on a higher note than tomorrow's post. I just love the look of this Disneyland 60th Anniversary artwork. There's an innocence and joy found in this retro / vintage style. Who knows what next year holds? But thankfully, we know Who does!

Alice Returns

Earlier this week, Disneyland's classic attraction Alice in Wonderland, returned to operation in Fantasyland. Always beautiful to look at, the ride has never looked better! Of course, I haven't been there myself to see it, but video abounds.

Alice in Wonderland... an example of a beautiful-to-look-at but mediocre film that makes for a charming attraction. A very charming attraction.

Touring Plans has the best looking video out there. See the refurbishments for yourself.

If this is any indication of what the Imagineers have planned for Disneyland's 60th Birthday/Anniversary, I say we are in for a treat. Even though Walt's park deserves a big ticket item for this landmark date, these are still very wise investments. It shows, once again, that the older sister- or should we now say "matriarch" of Disney parks is still the richest in atmosphere and in number of attractions both big and small.

Happiest Birthday, Silly Honey!

The years have passed by so quickly! Happy Birthday, to a wonderful young woman who will always be my little girl. I am so proud of you for how you've survived and thrived in this life. Your heart of love and gift of mercy very much intact. Much love always, Dad.
