Today I just wanted to share this special piece of concept art for Tokyo DisneySea. This rendering is the fourth in a series of work by the great Disney Imagineer Peter Ellenshaw. How he plays with light makes an incredible impact on how we see this still cutting edge theme park.
As opposed to the development of California Adventure which opened the same year, the Disney Imagineers had a generous budget because the Oriental Land Company demanded excellence, striving to make a park the entire world would want to visit. Based on the financial return and the rave reviews, I'm certain that decision was never regretted.
There is not a more stunning Asian park to be found. Not Shanghai Disneyland, not Hong Kong Disneyland, and perhaps no other second park in a Disney resort even comes close. My dream resort would include the original EPCOT Center, Disneyland Paris, Animal Kingdom, and Tokyo DisneySea. What about yours?
