Never Forget the Attack on America This Day!

It was a day of great heroism in the face of incredible cowardice. Like the whole world, I watched the events unfold. Radical Islam extremists decided to attack us on September 11, 2001. We as a nation lost so much, but what did we gain? We as a people rallied together. People of all faiths, political preferences, and cultural backgrounds. We came together to grieve together and pray together and to help together. Let us remember this day.

Let us not just talk but continue to pray for our nation and for our world. The senseless murder of Charlie Kirk and other political officials and influencers as well as ordinary citizens is not acceptable. We are better than that! Or are we? Shooting at school aged kids!?!?  God have mercy on us.

But back to today, 9/11. We should remember the sacrifices of those serving, the loss of family and friends. Let us honor those who gave their lives. Let us work together to preserve our God-given freedoms. Lord Jesus, have mercy on us and do not judge us according to what our sins deserve- either as a nation or as an individuals!

This Photograph Inspires

A good friend of mine took this amazing photo. (I took a screenshot of it because I did not want to share his full sized version.) Isn't it beautiful? When I saw it, the words of this famously great song came to mind:

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
Whose stern, impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

What We Gained on September 11, 2001

Twenty years ago. This was a day of immense tragedy, but it was also a day for heroism!  Radical Islam extremists decided to attack us, the United States of America on September 11, 2001. We as a nation lost so much, but what did we gain? We as a people rallied together. People of all faiths and backgrounds. We came together to grieve together and pray together.

Yet slaughter continues in other places at the hands of Radical Islam. Christians overseas are being persecuted, denied basic rights or even slaughtered- Christians of all different nationalities - those in Afghanistan, regions in Africa, Asia, and even in Mexico. (Don't believe me about Mexico? Read this or this.) Children, infants, women and men alike. It's shocking we don't read about that, but it happens. It's a different kind of war that devastates.

Let us remember this day. Let us pray for our nation and our world. We should remember the sacrifices of those serving,  the loss of family and friends. Let us honor those who gave their lives. Let us work together to preserve our God-given freedoms. Lord Jesus, have mercy on us and do not judge us according to what our sins deserve- either as a nation or as an individuals!

Heroes Not Cowards

Remember this day. Even as we find ourselves on the brink of getting involved more than some of us ever thought. And definitely more than any of us would like.

It was a day of tragedy, but also a day for heroes- not cowards! Radical Islam extremists decided to attack us, the United States of America on September 11, 2001, not the other way around.  We as a people rallied together. People of all faiths and backgrounds. We came together to grieve together and pray together.

Let us remember. Pray for our nation, remembering the sacrifices of those serving,  the loss of family and friends. Let us preserve our freedoms- but do it with wisdom. Let us honor those who gave their lives instead of honoring and defending those who killed others.

Christians overseas are being slaughtered. Children, infants, women and men alike. And we stand by or so it seems. Did we not learn anything from Hitler and World War II?

What other country in the world would care about the rights of terrorists when fighting a war? We have a right to defend our people, our land, and to come together with those of other nations experiencing the violent and deadly attacks that come against them.

It was a day of tragedy, but also a day for heroes! When radical Islam extremists decided to attack the United States of America on September 11, 2001, we as a people rallied together afterward. It was the right way to come together, grieve together, and pray together.

Always Remembering

So many stories I could tell from a friend that was there twelve years ago in New York. But, the truest story, is of the heroes that gave their lives for others.

Heroes of 911

Remember this day. What a day of tragedy, but what a day for heroes! When radical Islam extremists decided to attack the United States of America on September 11, 2001, we as a people rallied together. For a season, we were all Americans first.

Let us rally together now in prayer for our nation and remember the sacrifices of those serving and the loss of family and friends. Let us preserve our freedoms- but do it with sensitivity, honoring those who gave their lives and not those who killed others.
