From the small preview edition book, giving a first glance at Animal Kingdom. The Disney executives were not lying when they told us Countdown to Extinction would be a thrill ride of epic proportions. The track layout may be the same as the Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland, but its landscape couldn't be more different. But there is nothing subtle about this attraction. The start-of-the-art vehicles pound familiar terrain: dark ride spookhouses done Disney style and filled with terrifying creatures of prehistoric worlds. Every ride through convinces me I'll never do it again- yet I continue to get in line. Quite an accomplishment.
