Insiders View of the Indiana Jones Adventure

Imagineer Chuck Ballew created this very clever piece of the "Showset Design Package" for the Indiana Jones Adventure design team in 1993. As he tells the story, Chuck says he completed the line drawing version back then, but he did not add in the color- or send out the copies to his friends- until 2006! Regardless, his concept art for the Adventureland attraction is iconic, and a print of his most known piece from my opening day visit hangs on my wall. Much like the entire Temple of the Forbidden Eye project, his artwork is just incredible!

Monday Night Special: Imagineer Chuck Ballew's Indiana Jones Adventure

Here it is in all it's glory: Imagineer Chuck Ballew's look at the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland. The film is one of the greatest of all time Saturday afternoon at the movies classics. The Adventureland attraction every bit as memorable, even if with a slightly different storyline at Tokyo DisneySea. The concept art captures the excitement of this cutting edge E Ticket attraction. Perfection on all levels!

Indiana Jones Still Rocks the Parks

Disney Imagineer Chuck Ballew created this thrilling piece of concept art for the Indiana Jones Adventure in 1995. Looking at this, you can easily envision what its like to ride this attraction and the sense of suspense and unexpected surprise all around you.

Indiana Jones remains an iconic hero, and fans of the films and theme parks still go wild for this rough and tumble jeep journey deep in California's Disneyland. It's hard to imagine Adventureland without it being there, isn't it? Thankfully, West Coast fans don't have to worry.

East Coast fans are still asking when Indy will make his Florida debut- and so are fans of Disneyland Paris. They should have received this epic ride and instead got a quick off the shelf roller coaster. Perhaps now that Disney owns the Parc outright, they'll invest the cash to bring the classic to life.
