Our first snow of December arrived early this morning. It's not a White Christmas but a few days late. That's ok, I can wait. This is Colorado, and there's always more coming.

The First BIG Snow of the Year
You can't tell from this photo, but it is snowing very, very hard. Just yesterday, our grandson shoveled off the patio snow, leaving it clean and dry. Little did we know. As much as I hate it, I forced myself to stop and thank God for this. Thank you for the water it gives, thank you that I can work from home, and thank you for the protection it brings from many types of fires. Speaking of which, pray for the people of the Los Angeles area who are losing their homes to fire. May God have mercy on them- and may they be drawn to Him for comfort and peace!

Deluge!
My photo doesn't do this justice! The heavy rains started at 3:00pm. We couldn't see the end of our street. No relief in sight yet. It is supposed to continue through tomorrow morning. We certainly do need the water. I just pray no one gets hurt and no property is damaged.

Blue Fall
Coffee this morning included being greeted by a very blue hue of the snow in the backyard. It was strangely beautiful- and I really do not like winter. But it makes for a stunning photograph.

Beautiful and Strange
Crocodiles and frogs are not known for being the best of friends- especially when the larger creature eats the smaller ones for a quick meal! In this quite amazing snapshot by Tanton Yensen for mediadrumworld.com, five small frogs take a ride on the back of this saltwater crocodile found in Jakarta, Indonesia. Was this a poor choice on the part of those frogs? Beautiful and strange!

Dropping the F Bomb
OK, I'm gonna go ahead and do it. Something I've said in the past and will probably say again: It's freezing. (Did you really think I was going to admit I've dropped the real F-Bomb? Well, I have. So there.) It's been icy cold and snowing since yesterday afternoon and going to continue until tomorrow afternoon. Thank God I work at home.

When It Rains
Might be impossible to tell from this photo, but today we had an incredibly powerful rain storm hit our city. Amazing amount of water in such a short time. Cheaper than paying for it! It's been one of our wettest summers that I can ever remember. With all the wind as well, it was time to open the windows and enjoy that fresh air!

Bi-Polar
First snowstorm of the winter. And it's very, very early this year. Last year, we made it through October and more than half of November before the snow came. Fall was lengthy and lovely, the colors so bright and strong. Since it lasted so long, I saw some of my plants change color that I didn't even realize they did so.
This year, it's a different story. And although it will be relatively warm tomorrow, the color will be gone. Such is October in Colorado.

A Beautiful Deluge
In the midst of a difficult day, God lets it rain to remind me of His faithfulness. (And my little grandson and I run outside and play in the backyard doing our rain dance!) Thank you, LORD Jesus!

Three Seasons One Day
From the front of our house- Three Seasons in one day. My arbor vine has still not changed from its Summer colors to those of Autumn, but my trees and bushes have. Of course, it snowed this morning, our first snow of the year. Very strange and typical Colorado weather.

Fall Meets An Early Winter
Oh, that crazy Denver weather. Woke up this morning to this image- beautiful snow covered light strings over my patio. Farther out, the limbs of my trees heavy under a fresh snow. Drizzled snow still coming my way. You can tell which direction it came from as there's still hints of green grass closer to our fence. In practical terms, its very early for a snow here. Usually Halloween night is our first snow. Not this year. I hope there's not much freeze- I'd hate to miss all the Fall colors.

First Snowfall

First snowfall of the year. Yes, really. Tomorrow, it could be 75 degrees. Surprises me every year, everytime. Welcome to Colorado!
