Odd Disneyland Main Street Poster

Trying to finish up my Disneyland Attraction Poster series and my look at Tomorrowland. Came across this Main Street U.S.A. poster, and I had never seen it before. I can't even remember where I found it. Can anyone tell me its origin and if it was a final concept poster or a proposed one that was never used?

  1. Though of course it does advertise a land at the park, this isn't an "Attraction Poster" in the strictest sense. I believe this was designed and sold as merchandise.

  3. Yes---this is from a series of land posters sold at the Emporium and Tomorrowland Art Corner in 1966. They don't seem to have been sold after that. Frontierland, Adventureland, Main Street, Fantasyland feature highly rendered images while Tomorrowland and New Orleans Square have very 60's sharp silhouetted graphics -- amateurish compared to real Disneyland attraction poster artwork.

  4. This is from a series of posters Land posters sold at the Emporium and Tomorrowland Art corner in 1966. They seem to have been available for just that time. Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland feature highly rendered illustration artwork, while Tomorrowland(still showing the Moonliner Rocket) and New Orleans Square feature amateurish 60's graphic silhouettes --not as refined as a real attraction poster however.

  6. Yes. I've seen them all. New Orleans Square and Tomorrowland tend to sell for more, while the others seem to be more common....like Adventureland and Frontierland

  7. I think the reason Tomorrowland and the New Orleans Square poster in the series don't match the style of the others is probably New Orleans Square was not opened yet when the posters were first being designed. And Tomorrowland was closed for a good chunk of 1966 - merchandising probably decided to add the Tomorrowland after--again--the Tomorrowland poster shows the Moonliner Rocket which was was taken down in 1966.
