Coming- and Not a Moment Too Soon

A chance to get excited about something in the theme park world. Finally, something that could be on par with Tokyo DisneySea! This fun map of Disney California Adventure makes Cars Land look like the star of the park that it will be. The rock work is looking as majestic as Mount Promethus, and Radiator Springs Racers is my prediction for the new smash hit of the resort. Something to perhaps finally give Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the Haunted Mansion a run for their money.

I agree that it is looking good. I'm actually looking forward to being in Radiator Springs at night...the neon and (hopefully) the soundtrack should pull you right out of "today" and into the movie. But, if Radiator Springs Racers isn't as mind-blowing as Indy was when it opened, the land may fall flat. The other rides seem quaint, but far from "gotta make trip to see 'em" (Flying Tires could be great fun, but load/unload times may prove to be it's undoing). Buena Vista Street seems like it will be a home run, but that can only go so far. Personally, I think there is more work that will need to be done to have this park shed it's "step child" reputation.

I think even if the show portion isn't fantastic, the thrill of the ride will make it very popular with the guests. Yes, it will be a much better second gate (better than the 3rd and 4th in Florida) but it will still need some work to equal Disneyland.
